Philosophy
McRae’s was known as a company that operated with a high degree of integrity.  In 1974, a group of McRae’s Associates drafted the “Philosophy of McRae’s.”  These principles were adopted and were part of the ongoing mission of McRae’s Department Stores.

Philosophy of
McRae’s
WE BELIEVE that honesty is the only policy to follow in our relationships with our associates, customers, government, stockholders, and vendors.

WE BELIEVE in the idea "that he profits most who serves best."  We believe customer service and customer satisfaction to be the cornerstones of our success and that a "sale is never complete until the customer is completely satisfied."

WE BELIEVE in practicing the Golden Rule in the conduct of all our business affairs.

WE BELIEVE in maintaining a working environment which leads to financial security, job satisfaction, and individual growth for our associates.  We believe that such a climate will promote, on the part of each associate, loyalty and a desire to contribute to the best of his ability to the growth of the company.

WE BELIEVE that we have a responsibility to contribute to the cultural, economic, and social welfare of the communities we serve.

WE BELIEVE that we have a responsibility to our Associates, customers, and stockholders to operate a professional, profitable business and to perpetuate our existence through wise expansion, maintenance of financial stability, and optimization of return on invested capital.

WE BELIEVE in the principle of the free enterprise system and will support all efforts to sustain that principle.

WE BELIEVE this to be the PHILOSOPHY OF McRAE'S.

Today McRAE INVESTMENTS maintains this same philosophy in our investment mission.
